the wall albümünden roger waters- david gilmour imzalı bir şaheser. ikisi biraraya geldiğinde neler olabileleceğinin tek kanıtıdır bu şarkı. waters, “hello! ıs there anybody out there?” diye girer, gilmour “there is no pain you’re receding” diye devam eder. şarkının solosu ise kesinlikle akıllara zarardır. tüm zamanların en iyi solusu ünvanını elinde bulunduran bu solonun*, gilmour tarafından p.u.l.s.e.’da kanlı canlı tekrar icra edillişi ise kesinlikle izlenmelidir. zira şarkı bitişinin akabinde üstünden kamyon geçmişe döner insan ve “o nasıl bir şarkıydı ya? vay vicdansızlar vaayy!” sözleri ağızlardan istemsizce dökülüverir. waters, gereksiz ve yüksek egosundan biraz ödün verebilseydi biz daha ne comfortably numb’lar dinleyecektik. konu hakkında ise gilmour babamız şöyle buyurmuştur:

“comfortably numb, roger ve benim yeteneklerimizi birleştirip birlikte çalışabileceğimizi gösteren son örnektir.”

iki eski(meyen) dostla yenilen "catch it up" yemeğinden sonra süper keyifli kahve muhabbeti... eşsiz saadet kafası... lineer olarak düşünülen hayatın zirve noktalarında dolanmalar...*

ve eve gelince bilinçaltının iteklemesiyle son ses açılan şarkıdır...
